All-in-one, modular, integrated system for voice evacuation in emergency situations.
The VAIS 1000 is a high quality, all-in-one modular voice alarm system, specially designed to provide simple, effective provision of a fully EN60849 and BS5839 compliant voice alarm system.
An effective Voice Evacuation system's main function is to provide clear and intelligible voice messaging reproduction, to advise people of the presence of fire or emergency alert via the fire detection system to which the VA system is connected.
A VAIS 1000M single module system can be configured either as Master, Slave or Extension unit to allow increased numbers of zones from one fire detection system. This allows configuration of single and multi-zone VA systems, ideal for medium to large installations such as offices, retail, leisure complexes, hotels and community centres.
Applied as additional Extension modules, the VAIS 1000 can be daisy-chained to provide greater amplification power for additional loudspeakers in large-scale applications such as shopping centres, cinema complexes and warehouses. The system provides further flexibility to differentiate between voice announcement and background music using the dedicated input features.

Fully compliant to Norm EN60849/855839 the VAIS 1000 is capable of:
• Effective and reliable use in emergency situations
• Indicating system faults
• Transmitting voice alarm messages
• Functioning without mains supply power (using internal battery backup)
• Providing secondary backup amplification
• Providing active connection to a fire detection system
Within one integrated and compact,
wall and rack-mountable 19” enclosure, the VAIS 1000 features as
standard:
• Matrix with prioritized pre-amplifier circuitry comprising:
- 6 input channels for background music (auxiliary CD/Tape/Tuner and USB
input for MP3 audio files recorded onto a USB memory stick)
- Fireman-specific microphone input for announcing instructions for effective
evacuation procedure
- Desk Paging Microphone input
- Internal MP3 evacuation and alert messaging generator
- External message generator
• Digital message generator on internal non-volatile memory. Messages
can be recorded via auxiliary microphone input, fireman’s microphone
or auxiliary input for CD/Tape/Tuner. MP3 messages can also be transferred
from a PC via the USB port
• Fireman’s Microphone – used for announcements in emergency
situations. System includes diagnostic circuitry to detect microphone
faults
• 2 x Audio Power Amplifiers with isolated output transformer (100V
line)
• 1 x Monitored Spare Audio Amplifier - automatically switches in
to replace a faulty amplifier.
• 1 x 12V 18Ah Internal Backup Battery, capable of powering the
VAIS 1000 for 24 hours in stand-by mode, 30 minutes in emergency messaging
active mode
• Internal Battery Charger (temperature compensated)
• Fire Detection System Interfaces:
- receive command signal to activate general emergency message
- receive command signal to activate local emergency message
- receive command signal to activate local alert message
- send audio system fault alarms (Interfaced via RS385 or 3 x logic-controlled
inputs, 2 x logic-controlled outputs)
• RS485 network connection between VAIS 1000 Module and MBT VAIS

• RJ45 Network Connection. Allows network of up to 16 VAIS 1000

- Fault; displays any faults in the system
- Alarm; monitors system in emergency condition

not available to paging signal, but remains fully operative in emergency
conditions)

MBT VAIS 1008 Desk-paging microphone
The MBT VAIS
1008 is an 8 zone desk microphone for normal paging-announcements. It
also provides general system information, via LED indicators, such as:
